Prototyping System RAM and Disk

چکیده

Prototyping system RAM and its interactions with disk is attractive for several reasons. Memory hierarchies at this level are important to computing performance, slow relative to the processor, and difficult to model accurately. This talk details a search for a prototyping vehicle; it motivates prototyping, identifies some unfruitful paths, and explains the pros and cons of the chosen solution.
